Tow Requirements

 We want to take the guess work out of towing a trailer. Below are the main requirements for towing any of the trailers that we have for rent.

Towing Vehicle for Flagstaff 10′ Tent Trailer

-Trailer Dry Vehicle Weight = 1,493 lbs.

-Can be towed by most 6 cylinder cars, vans, and sport utility vehicles.

-Check with your car manufacturer for tow ratings of your vehicle. Tow ratings for compact cars (4 cylinder motor) are questionable.

 Towing Vehicle for Shamrock

 -Trailer Dry Vehicle Weight = 3524 lbs (19ft Shamrock) – 5,484 lbs(29FBSS Superlite)

-WE RECOMMEND ELECTRIC BRAKES TO PULL.

-Can be towed by most sport utility vehicles and pick-up trucks.

-Check with your vehicle’s manufacturer guideline for tow ratings.

 Trailer Hitches and Wiring

 -A wiring plug with a “flat four” plug or a “7-way round” plug wiring harness is required.

Standard Flat Four Plug (most cars & vans)
Standard 7 way round plug (most pick-up trucks)

-2″trailer ball is required. Weight distribution bars, receiver and ball will be supplied at no extra cost.

-Trailer Hitch assembly required is a secured Class II assembly that is complete with a receiver ball mount. (draw bar / tongue bar)
